I am going to make posters from my classroom with vocabulary and print as a poster at Wal-Mart. This is a fun way to become familiar with words.

First Things First

Kids will notice and relate to characters that they are familiar with. You do have to use a little caution when dealing with the Simpsons. lol

Thing 9 - Useful Blogs and News Feeds

I found Blogline's search tool very easy to use. I found information i was looking for quickly with this site.

Edublog Award winners was little frustrating because it wants you to vote every time you click.

Technorati was easy to use with the categories set up.

There is definitely a ton of information out there!

Thing 8 - RSS Feeds

RSS feeds are an awesome time saver. With a small amount of time you may view a large amount of information that is narrowed down to your interests.

I think it can be useful in the classroom in several ways. I will be more aware of up-to-date topics that will interest my students. I try to assign projects that students are interested in. It will also all me to keep up with technology more closely.

RSS feeds could benefit teachers by allowing them to connect and link to current issues. It could point them in a new direction with current teaching resources. I think it will keep teaching FRESH.

Thing 7 - GOOGLE

Google is so much more than a search engine. They are anchoring the tools that they offer into everyday life. I already use Google Calendar. I love being able to access my calendar from anywhere and I sync to my Outlook and would sync to an Iphone - if i had one. lol

I also uploaded a doc to Google Docs. This is an excellent way to store and organize files that are accessible from any online computer. Love It!

Thing 6 Mashups

I could spend days looking through all the wonderful applications - and I may later. I have heard some of the hoopla about Flickr but did not "get" what was so grand about it until now. The uses and applications are over whelming. WOW!!!!
I did create a trading card - just for fun. I will use some of these resources in my digital graphics classes. This is awesome.

Thing 5 - flickr Photo

As a Photoshop project, students find their favorite place and insert a picture of themself on it.

Thing 3 - Create Blog and Avatar

This was a little time consuming but a lot of fun! I did wonder if my firwork background should be animated. It was animated when I created it in Yahoo. Any ideas on the background? I am guessing it will not be animated since it is not in gif format..... just jpg.

Thing 2 - hard habit to form

From the 7 1/2 Habits of Successful People, I think the hardest for me is to view problems as challenges. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the problem. Sometimes the refining fire gets a little hot - OUCH!

Thing 2 - Easy Habit

One of the things listed in the 7 1/2 habits of successful people that is easy for me and that I naturally do is to have my own learning toolbox. I am constantly learning new things in order to teach digtial graphics and animation class. I use learning tools such as help in the program, tutorials from the Adobe site, website tutorials, Youtube and other resources.
